SC003 - Certification of Class 1b Buildings

Are you a Residential Certifier with limited experience in Class 1b Buildings? need a better understanding of disability standards?

Designed, developed and delivered by Certifiers for Certifiers, this Short Course will take an in depth look at the critical stages of the approval and certification process for Class 1b Buildings in NSW. The course will look at the key differences between Class 1 Buildings, application of the disability standards as well as the regulatory requirements for fire safety.

Purpose

You should attend this course if you want to be able to:

Understand and interpret the NCC requirements for a Class 1b Buildings.
Review approval documentation for Class 1b Buildings including correct construction plan notations
Determine and document compliance of a Class 1b Buildings in accordance with NSW regulatory requirements including fire safety provisions.
Apply the NCC and disability standards when carrying out critical stage inspections

6 Hour Total Duration – 3 x 2hr sessions

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this seminar, you will be able to:

Determine Class 1b Construction Certificate applications in accordance with the NCC and Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979.
Apply disability standards to the approval and certification process for a Class 1b Building
Assess compliance of Class 1b Buildings at key critical stage inspections
Gather and assess required documentation, including fire safety, prior to the issue of an occupation certificate

Holds over ten (10) years’ industry experience having worked for Local Government as a BCA Consultant and Building Surveyor before moving to the Private sector in 2015.

Andrew has an intimate knowledge of building regulation and a passion for further understanding and applying building regulations to all classes of building.

Andrew completes work on all classes and types of development providing specialist BCA and Building Regulation advice, inspections and client liaisons.
